With the latest update to Pokemon GO, Niantic included a bunch of exciting features. The thing is, they also included a new method to try and stop people from cheating. Those who were using various cheats to spoof GPS locations were met with the message below.
“We have detected software that can interfere with the operation of Pokémon Go on your device. This includes applications that falsify your location. Using unauthorized software that directly impacts Pokémon Go is a violation of Niantic’s Terms of Service and can result in the loss of your account. You will need to uninstall any such applications in order to continue gameplay.”
Not surprisingly, those who were cheating fired back almost instantly. In an hour's time, they found a way to work around the new anti-cheating detection. It seems Niantic was aware of this as well, as they've already removed the anti-cheat approach from the latest update. Looks like the cheaters have won again...for now.
