Astro Duel Deluxe Launches in Japan

Veteran studio Panic Button brings multiplayer party shooter hilarity to the Nintendo Switch™ eShop with Astro Duel Deluxe.

Game rounds are quick and defeat is sudden as you blast enemy ships, or run over your friends' shipless pilots – With up to six players playing on the same screen.

“Nintendo has the first console to get all-new gameplay authored specifically to show off the hardware,” said Adam Creighton, Studio GM and Director of Development for Panic Button.

The title leverages the social party game strengths of the Nintendo Switch system, with deceptively simple, highly competitive, hilarious gameplay.

Game creator Rusty Moyher of Wild Rooster said, “The goal was always to have something to play with my friends and family at a table or sitting on the floor. It’s so crazy that this idea is a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch."

The game features the ability to play anywhere, with multiple controller types, multiple game modes, frantic 6-player “Chaos” mode, the ability to choose pilots, instant replay, new music, touch-mode play, CPU opponents, powerups, dynamic arenas and Game Modifiers.

Astro Duel Deluxe is the console debut for Austin developer Wild Rooster, and was Panic Button’s first published title under their new digital publishing services.

“We wanted to develop and publish a game that felt natural to the Nintendo ecosystem, and give opportunities to games and developers that might not exist otherwise,” said Creighton.

Astro Duel Deluxe is published in Japan by Panic Button, in partnership with Kakehashi Games.
