Recently, Zoe Saldana was interviewed and responded to the involvement of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity Wars. It was great to know that our favorite space cadets are working with, and I use that term lightly, the Avengers cast. However, she may have accidentally slipped her tongue on what the actual name of the fourth Avengers movie would be.
Marvel Studios has been pumping out movie after movie for about ten years now. What initially started with Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk has blossomed into an elaborate Marvel Cinematic Universe. What started from Earth is now spanning through time and space itself. In fact, it’s even involved gods and monsters from different planets; it’s been an explosively enjoyable ride so far.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a combination of about thirteen released movies with countless more to come. However, the Phase 1 movies initially hinted at something much larger and more destructive than the Chitauri that they fought at the end of the first Avengers movie: Thanos. Thanos is the final villain that these heroes are going to clash with and that train is set on its path.
Since then, we’ve learned of the many different planes of existence and the vastness of the universe and its creatures via Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy. One consistent main theme is the collection and utilization of all the different “Infinity Stones” of power. Thanos himself is said to be collecting these all at once in order to become a god – this is where Avengers: Infinity Wars comes into play.
Kevin Feige has been keeping the lid down on what the actual name would be, but it seems Zoe accidentally said the name “Gauntlet”. From this, it would make sense to call it the Gauntlet since in the comics, Thanos does construct the Infinity Gauntlet to utilize the power of all the Infinity Stones.
Are both of our favorite teams going to clash against each other then finally work together to retrieve the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos? We’re all going to find out very soon!
