Since it’s release, Battlefield 1 has been touted multiple times as the quintessential shooter to own this year. In my opinion, it’s been nothing short of phenomenal. If you factor in the awesome graphics, great gameplay, and the insanity that is every battle you fight, you can’t go wrong. For as expansive as the game is, I do feel like there is a bit lacking in the close quarters combat area. This is something many players have expressed concerns over for some time now. Some may even feel that the game currently favors long range weapons as well.
Things are about to change, as EA and DICE hope to quell these concerns with the next Battlefield DLC titled “They Shall Not Pass.” The DLC will feature 4 new maps, 20 new weapons, a new French Army faction, and possibly a new behemoth type. They’ve also released a few new concept images that give us a taste of things to come, and by the looks of it, there will be a lot of close quarters engagements.
The maps are inspired by the Battle of Soissons and will feature many battles over bridges along the Aisne River. We’ll also be treated to “massive French tank assaults” as well. There isn’t an exact release date yet, but we expect to see it early in 2017, with Premium members getting access 2 weeks prior. Are you excited for the newest DLC? Let us know in the comments below.
