Disney has proven that it’s good to be in the Lin-Manuel Miranda business. And, now, Lionsgate is following suit. The company announced that they have tapped Miranda to serve as creative producer of a future TV and film adaptation of the popular fantasy series The Kingkiller Chronicle. This book series, written by Patrick Rothfuss, is a favorite among fans of the genre and is well-known for its huge and intricate world. Miranda will be in charge of providing any music and original songs for the series.
Miranda said in a press release, “Pat Rothfuss’ ‘Kingkiller’ books are among the most read and re-read in our home. It’s a world you want to spend lifetimes in, as his many fans will attest. Pat also writes about the act of MAKING music more beautifully than any novelist I’ve ever read. I can’t wait to play a part in bringing this world to life onscreen.”
Although no dates for either the film or TV show have been announced, this will be something that fans will be keeping an eye on very closely.
