Yo-Kai Watch arrived in North America back in November in a big way with the release of the first game in the series, various Yo-Kai Watch collectibles from Hasbro and the animated series which is currently airing on Disney XD.

To celebrate the upcoming release of Yokai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yokai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls, Nintendo held a special event in Hollywood, California, hosted by Mark Ballas. While the event was heavily focused on the game, there were a few surprises revealed including that the Yo-Kai Watch film will be coming to select theaters for one day only on October 15th, as well as a special first look at the upcoming second season Yo-Kai Watch animated series featuring Billy Blanks Jr. teaching us the dance to Burly’s Beat Camp.

Afterwards, it was off to a replica of Springdale where we had a chance to play a few new modes in Yo-Kai Watch 2 which includes a new bicycle mini-game and a four-player survival mode known as Blasters. In Blasters you team up with other players as you try and avoid a giant ogre who will chase you if his minions find out where you are, working together with your teammates is key as you also try to collect souls for better rewards you can transfer over to the main game.

It was a fun event with everything from a look at the new gameplay elements including the Yo-Kai Watch Model Zero and ability to Time Travel which will play a huge part in the game. Nintendo even had a little bit of fun and set up a Crank-a-kai where you could win different prizes including various medals and other items. Speaking of Medals just like the first game, you will be able to scan the QR codes located on each medal into the game to unlock special items in the game.

Yokai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yokai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls is coming exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS on September 30th.
