It’s time to take a trip back to a time where games were rad and graphics were a lot simpler. The Internet Archive, known for providing public access to countless collections of digital media such as web sites, software applications/games, music, movies/videos, moving images, etc, has recently added 10,350 AMIGA software/games to its collection. The catalog of games is coupled with an emulator embedded into the browser, allowing you to play directly on the site. While there are a lot of games in the collection, the majority are demos or software.
The collection, on the other hand, does have some really cool games. Besides the embedded browser, you have access to the downloading them directly and playing on your PC via an AMIGA emulator.
Seeing as the browser played slow, despite the files being small, this was easily remedied when played directly on my PC. I was able to play Double Dragon, R-Type, and my personal favorite Bubble Bobble. I myself didn’t have an AMIGA computer but I do remember a friend who did which was a nice trip down memory lane. Check out a few screenshots of the games I played below.
